Overview
This is a fantastic looking airspeed indicator and altimeter with OAT sensor and simple variometer display. Note that there is no way to connect a Total Energy probe to the ADI2, so the vario is not TE compensated.

Airspeed
The ADI2 offers three true airspeed calculation modes.

• Altitude Only provides a standard fallback when no OAT probe is available
• Altitude + OAT delivers enhanced accuracy by correcting for density changes
• Altitude + OAT + Compressibility ensures top-level precision for faster aircraft by factoring in air compressibility effects.

Altimeter
The ADI2 features a high-precision 24-bit barometric sensor with a 10–1200 hPa range, delivering altitude resolution down to 10 cm for exceptionally accurate atmospheric and elevation measurements. QNH can be adjusted quickly and intuitively using the rotary knob.

Variometer
The ADI2 includes a customizable variometer, featuring adjustable vario filter settings for fine-tuned response and configurable vertical speed units (fpm, m/s, or knots).

• The ADI2 has a larger display - fully round (not clipped on the side) using all the space in the instrument hole.
• The ADI2 has EASA approvals and reciprocal FAA approvals.  The original ADI doesn't.
• The ADI2 has a built-in backup battery with up to 3 hours of operation
• The original ADI has altitude warnings, the ADI2 doesn't.
• The original ADI could be configured for altitude dependent Vne.  The ADI2 can't, because certification wouldn't be possible with that functionality.
• The original ADI is much less expensive than the ADI2 - especially now that they are on-sale.
