Versatility without compromise

The DG-1001S neo is more versatile than any other two-seater.  The high, electric chassis ensures comfort and safety.   Alternatively, a low, manually operated retractable landing gear with nose wheel is available.   With its three available wingspans 17.2m / 18m / 20m, it masters every discipline from aerobatics to training and performance-oriented cross country flying.   Especially in a club, an important prerequisite for permanent utilization and a high fun factor!   If necessary, we can prepare the installation of an FES or a slack slide.

Thanks to its 3 different wingspan variants, the DG1001S is the all-rounder par excellence.   Whether unlimited aerobatics, training or cross-country flying, everything is possible with it.

Thanks to the standard included separation point, the DG1001S neo can be flown with different wingspans.

  • In the basic version, the DG1001S neo is delivered with a 20m wingspan and neo winglets. The new outer wing works excellently, especially with high wing loadings and improves handling and climbing in thermals.
  • With a wingspan of 17.2m, the DG1001 becomes an aerobatic machine.  It is even suitable for figures of the Cat.   A approved, which makes it not only suitable for aerobatic training, but also enables the pilot to fly advanced programs and figures
  • The 18m neo outer wings can also be attached.   With you you get a compact, maneuverable and, above all, good-natured two-seater that is wonderfully suitable for training.   Important, especially for clubs where an aircraft must be able to meet several requirements.

chassis variants
The high, electric chassis that comes as standard combines safety and comfort. Thanks to the missing nose wheel, the DG1001 fuselage contour has perfect aerodynamics.

Optionally, the DG1001S is also available with a low, manually operated retractable landing gear.   The 4″ nose wheel of this landing gear version was replaced by a 3″ nose wheel with a high-quality aluminum rim from Tost.   This variant is perfect for all clubs that not only want to fly distance but also want to use the aircraft in training.   The low entrance is comparable to other training two-seaters and young as well as old pilots find it a little easier to get in.

if required, we can prepare your aircraft for the installation of an FES or a turbo system. Of course, the drive can also be installed from the outset. An interesting aspect also in terms of value retention.

Training at the highest level

With a wingspan of 18m and neo winglets, your DG1001S becomes a training aircraft. Easy handling on the ground and agile, good-natured flight characteristics characterize the two-seater in this configuration!


slow flight:
If the center of gravity is forward, the DG1001 can be kept stable in deep stall. If you gradually reduce the center of gravity with the help of the trimming weights, the tendency to tip over slowly increases. However, the aircraft remains easily controllable over the entire center of gravity range and quickly ends the stalled flight condition when the stick is released.

Spin:
If you place the center of gravity in the rear area using the trim weights, you can use the DG1001 excellently for spin training. The aircraft can be launched and exited using standard procedures and exhibits the behavior of modern plastic aircraft.

Unlike older generation aircraft, modern plastic aircraft spin steeply and flatly alternately. A property that cannot be simulated with old mixed or wooden training two-seaters. With the DG1001, the students are specifically prepared for the flight behavior of modern aircraft.

Performance:
The flight performance at 18m is comparable to that of old standard class aircraft and is therefore far better than comparable training two-seaters.

A 20m two-seater with which you can also do reasonable aerobatics is the dream of many customers. Above all in the club, he ensures a consistently high capacity utilization throughout the year. The DG1001S has been given wingtips for exactly this case, which reduce the wingspan to 17.2m. This not only allows simple aerobatics to be performed, but also category A aerobatics.

Set the right focus!

The trim weight boxes in the front cockpit and the trim box in the fin offer maximum flexibility when choosing the center of gravity. Light and heavy pilots alike can customize the aircraft to suit their needs, and as an instructor you get a rare opportunity to demonstrate the impact of CG in a simple way.

Trim weights in the cockpit are standard on all gliders. But the possibility of balancing the payload in the cockpit with weights in the fin is not that widespread. Often these weights are only used to perform spin exercises. But in the DG1001 family, the center of gravity can be adjusted for all flight conditions. 


For many, however, the use of weights is too cumbersome or annoying. The easiest way to do this is to just leave the box empty. You can use the trim box, but you don't have to . It is therefore not necessary to adjust the weights before each start. As with other two-seaters, you then fly with a top-heavy center of gravity.


To make choosing the correct center of gravity as easy as possible, each aircraft is supplied with a trim table, which makes it very easy to determine the correct number of trim weights. 


A simple way is to put the trim weights in the fin in the morning for the lightest pilot combination. Only in the evening should you then remove the trim weights for the next day.


Only for spinning and aerobatics is it obligatory to fill the box in the tail according to the table.  

Security

The modern cockpit of the DG1001 with its firmly bonded structural elements ensures maximum safety. Together with the main wheel, which is dampened by steel springs, the DG1001Club neo can absorb more energy than comparable aircraft in the event of a crash. 


A high-quality interior with a modern, timeless design ensures the feel-good factor. The seating ergonomics allow long flights without fatigue.  


To improve visibility in the air, a strobe light in the nose of the fuselage is available for the DG1001.


The integrated electronics can be connected to the FLARM and thus controls the flash interval depending on the collision warning levels. The video shows how it works.




Flying knows no borders!

The DG1001 can be equipped with a handicap system in your variant with fixed landing gear or electric retractable landing gear. The lever on the left side wall that is otherwise used for the manual retractable landing gear is used to operate the rudder and also enables people with disabilities to enjoy the beauty of our sport. The lever does not bother pilots without a handicap and can remain in the cockpit. An expansion is not necessary, which simplifies the use in the club with changing pilots.


Tip: Many organizations and countries support handicap sport.
