Note: the 0.9 Liter capacity flask (or 2 x 0.45 L flasks) are not easy to fit into many sailplanes - so this is not a popular option.
Application
Indicates the aircraft's vertical speed (rate of climb, rate of descent). By using double the capacity used with the standard vario, this unit offers nearly twice as fast a response time. This variometer has a linear dial calibration so that it can be used with a MacCready ring (see below).
