The upgraded soaring overshoe with high-tech insulation: noticeably warmer, pleasantly lightweight and flexible enough for tight cockpits and long flights – premium in design, precisely made and refined down to the last detail for use in the cockpit.

Warm feet are not a luxury when flying in cold conditions. They are essential for concentration, comfort and endurance. Especially at altitude, in winter, in wave conditions or on cold spring flying days, ordinary shoes quickly become the weak point. The Soaring Boots Pro by WaveRidge are the logical evolution of the proven soaring overshoe – rethought, upgraded in quality and refined in every detail for use in tight cockpits.

For the new Pro version, we teamed up with an experienced specialist in sleeping bags and outdoor equipment. Together with their development team, we created an overshoe that combines strong thermal performance with low bulk. The special polyester insulation stores heat extremely efficiently, remains lightweight and does not take up unnecessary space in the footwell.

More warmth outside, more feel inside: because the Soaring Boots Pro provide reliable insulation, pilots can wear lighter shoes underneath – reducing bulk in the cockpit and improving pedal feel.

This balance is what makes the difference. In soaring, it is not about maximum thickness, but about the right combination of insulation, mobility and pedal feel. That is why the Soaring Boots Pro feature a flexible, non-slip sole. Tests with stiffer soles showed that they can interfere with the tight footwells of many sailplanes and reduce direct contact with the pedals. The softer construction adapts better and remains cockpit-friendly.

The two new size ranges, U.S. Men's: 5 to 8 and 8.5 to 12, (European 37 to 41 and 42 to 46), also improve the fit. Compared with traditional one-size solutions, the boots sit better, create less excess material and keep the footwell cleaner and less cluttered. The signal-orange lining, high-quality stitching, more abrasion-resistant material zones on the back and many fine details give the boots a distinctive Pro character. The design follows the function: what looks good also serves a practical purpose.

A small sewn-in inner pocket provides space for a compact emergency accessory, such as a signal whistle.

The Soaring Boots Pro are simply pulled over your shoes and can either stay in the cockpit or be put on when getting in. A practical stuff sack is included with every pair.

The right size depends on the shoes you fly with. Some pilots prefer slim, sporty footwear; others use light hiking or trekking shoes, which create more volume. When in doubt, choose the larger size.
