The Seatpack Softie is designed for use in aircraft that simply have no room for a backpack style parachute. The canopy and lines are packed into the container that you sit on. It is designed for use in aircraft that simply have no room for a backpack type parachute. The harness extends across the back, but the canopy and lines are stored in the seat. This type is often confused with the chair type parachute design.
The Seatpack Softie is designed for use by persons weighing up to 240 lbs.
Container Dimensions: The container is 15" (38.1 cm) wide 14" (35.6 cm) fore & aft 2 1/2" (6.4 cm) thick.
We now offer the Seatpack Softie in a Wedge version (optional) that is thicker at the front and thinner at the rear which allows for greater headroom.
