DG-1001RES

With the DG1001RES we present our latest centerpiece among two-seaters – a consistent further development of the DG1001 family with future-oriented RES technology (electric self-launching via Solo Aircraft RES system).
Innovative drive system for greater range and flexibility
The DG1001RES is based on the DG1001E and is combined with the efficient Solo Aircraft RES system. Two fuselage batteries are installed as standard, allowing for 3-4 self-launches. This flexibility opens up new possibilities for training, cross-country flying, and aerobatics.

Predicted performance values*

  • Self-launches: approx. 3–4
  • Maximum climb rate: approx. 4 m/s
  • Maximum climb altitude: up to 2,000 m
  • Maximum range: approx. 150 km (with two fuselage batteries)*The performance values stated are predicted. Exact data will be available after completion of flight testing.

New standard equipment

The DG1001RES not only sets new technical standards, but also offers numerous improvements in detail. These include a new interior, a bigger luggage compartment, and an intelligent cabling concept that makes handling and maintenance much easier.

Of course, all this is in addition to the standard equipment already familiar from the DG1001E. Further information is available on request or here once development work has been completed.

Options

In addition to the proven equipment variants, new options will also be available in the future:

  • electric front pedal adjustment
  • onboard charger for the RES batteries
  • steerable tail wheel
  • other innovative features that further increase flexibility and everyday usability

Additional equipment available on request.

Versatile and future-proof

Retrofitting of the RES system for the DG1000T will be possible in the future, once production has successfully started.

Safe your slot!

The prototype is currently under construction, with flight testing planned for 2026. The DG1001RES will be available and ready to order from 2027. Option forms are now available – safe your delivery slot early.

Flexible like no other

The DG1001RES was developed with a focus on cross-country soaring and electrification. Therefore, the 20m neo outer wing panels are standard. However, the aircraft can also be used for aerobatics and training.

To maintain the versatility of the DG1001RES, especially within the club, the aircraft can still be used for aerobatics with its 17.2m wingspan. For this, only the RES batteries need to be removed to comply with the structural weight limits.

Training with RES

Many clubs are struggling with declining student and member numbers. To counteract this trend, rapid learning progress is crucial. The faster a student pilot progresses, the higher the likelihood that they will complete their training and remain with the club. This is precisely where the DG1001RES can be effectively deployed.

Not every airfield has good thermal conditions. Often, many takeoffs are necessary to teach the important basics, especially at the beginning of training.

The DG1001RES allows you to turn short circuit flights into extended training launches, improving the practical application of knowledge. By using the RES system only briefly during each launch, you can more easily reach thermals and effectively practice the exercises.

The result is increased learning success, greater enjoyment of the training, and a reduction in the training period.

The DG1001RES is also the ideal companion for further training, for example to obtain the self-launch authorization.

Flying knows no borders!

The DG1001RES, in its version with electric retractable landing gear, will also be equipped with a handicap system. The lever on the left side panel, normally used for the manual retractable landing gear, will be used for rudder operation, allowing people with disabilities to enjoy the beauty of our sport. The lever does not interfere with pilots without disabilities and can therefore remain in the cockpit. Removal is not necessary, which simplifies its use within the club when pilots change.

The DG1001RES can also be retrofitted with a handicap control system if needed. This allows us to offer interested individuals with physical disabilities the opportunity to begin glider training with us – even if they are not currently club members. In this way, we can make gliding accessible to everyone and actively promote inclusion within the club.

Note: Many organizations and countries support disability sports and promote the implementation of handicap systems!

Here are the details / features of the DG1001RES at a glance:

Battery Box
The two RES drive batteries are located in the rear of the hull.

RES propeller
The Emrax motor used in combination with the newly developed JS2 propeller provides sufficient thrust for a safe takeoff.
neo-winglets
The neo-winglets primarily improve climb and handling at high wing loads. They also demonstrate their advantages in dynamic preflight maneuvers.
Cockpit
The DG's typical cockpit envelops the pilot in a sporty atmosphere. The comfortable seating position in both cockpits allows for long flights without fatigue.
Landing gear
The large main landing gear with 5" main wheel improves the angle of attack during taxiing and increases comfort. In the event of a crash, it absorbs a lot of energy to protect the pilot.
