Power and Data Connector for use with 12V devices
This unit was designed for taking 12V power from a glider battery and connecting it to both a GPS an a Pocket PC cradle that accepts 12V input.  It also passes RS-232 data (GPS data) straight through.  It is very similar to the PS-5a power converter - but does not include the 12V to 5V power converter or the capacitors.  It does include a "resettable" fuse and reverse polarity power protection.  The fuse is guaranteed to allow current flow of up to 1.1 amps and will definitely trip if the current gets up to 2.2 amps.
Example Applications
Connect the cable to your glider battery. Use a PVb-1 cable on the GPS side to connect to a Volkslogger and provide 12V power and data to the VL, Use a RAM-1 cable on the PDA side to connect to a RAM powered cradle with integral 12V to 5V power converter for a wide variety of Pocket PC types.  I also have iPAQ Cradles with integral 12V to 5V power converters.
Connections

Input: 12V power through a 2m long cable that is to be connected to a glider battery.
GPS Connector, DB-9m (pins), See wiring diagram below
PDA Connector, DB-9f (sockets), See wiring diagram below
