Overview
Torgoen makes high quality, stylish "pilot" / "aviator" watches. The
offer exceptional value. They are very rugged and accurate with
Swiss-made quartz movements that run on batteries - so you never need to
wind them. They come in many functional styles with many features
found on very expensive pilot watches - such as chronographs, alarms,
multiple time zones, and even E6B flight computer/calculators. They
are styled to make it clear that you are a pilot.
About
Torgoen Swiss was created by aviation enthusiasts and watch manufacturers
with a mission to create a line of professional pilot watches. With
features ranging from E6B Flight Computers to GMT Dual Time hands that read
time in military format, Torgoen's focus is in creating professional pilot
instruments.
The design of each Torgoen Swiss component has a
function. To guarantee quick readability day or night, Torgoen Swiss
watches are designed with cockpit inspired dials and luminescent hands and
indexes. To ensure accuracy, each Torgoen Swiss timepiece features a
precise Swiss quartz movement. For the essential traveling instrument,
many Torgoen Swiss timepieces feature Dual Time or Triple Time Zone
functions. The slide rule E6B Flight Computer provides pilots with the
ability to perform a wide range of mathematical functions ranging from fuel
consumption to time, speed and distance calculations.
Torgoen Swiss' obsession with quality promises
that from preparation to production, our commitment to the highest quality
standards is uncompromised. Each Torgoen Swiss watch passes strict
quality control procedures to ensure accuracy, water resistance and
endurance. The watches are tested using various extreme conditions
including temperature variation, dust, humidity, impact and vibration.
The result is a watch that can handle conditions as extreme as you are.
Torgoen Overview by
Paul Remde
I have been a fan of fine watches for many years. I can't seem to
justify spending $4000 to $8000 on some of the wonderful pilot watches on
the market today. The Torgoen watches capture the spirit of those
watches - at a fraction of the price. They are not cheap replicas,
they are Swiss quartz watches that don't pretend to be anything they are
not. They don't feature screw-down crowns or sapphire crystals or
automatic mechanical winding mechanisms, or sweep second hands, but they are
priced so you can buy 5 or 10 of them for the same price as a single high
end pilot watch. I love the large faces (40 mm diameter crystal) and
simple, understated, classy designs. My favorites are the
T10 watches.
Their dials seem to be inspired by the watches from Bell & Ross and Sinn and
actual aircraft clocks from years gone by. I plan to mount T10301
watches on the instrument panels in the DG-1000S sailplane I fly. Their simple
design with black face and large white markings fit in perfectly - looking a
lot like a Winter variometer or altimeter or airspeed indicator.

U.S. Customers Only
Torgoen USA has authorized me to ship only to customers in the USA.
I'm sorry, but I can't ship Torgoen watches outside of the USA. I ship
many other products to customers outside the USA every day, but not Torgoen
watches.
Second Hand Alignment
Torgoen watches have second hands that tick in 1 second intervals. The
second hand may or may not be perfectly aligned with the markings on the
face of the dial. It is close, but not exact on my T10 - at least, not
at all positions around the dial. Also, gravity plays a role in the
positioning of the second hand. There is a small amount of "slop" or
"play" in the positioning of the second hand. Therefore the second
hand will be a little ahead of the markings when gravity is pulling it down
in that direction, and it will be a little behind the markings when gravity
is pulling it in that direction. This is normal for a watches of this
type.
White Markings
Many watches are described as having white markings. I should clarify
that the markings are not exactly pure white. They are a light green
"luminescent" (glow in the dark) white .
