The Delbert is ours (MSC). On Saturday, July 10th, 1999, I retrieved the Delbert on my second cross country flight. Kathleen Winters chose to go down wind, and her radio transmissions faded out as she crossed into Iowa. She made it to Ames, I believe, claiming conditions to be poor. I however, as with many things in life, chose to fly into the wind. I took a lesurely tour of western Wisconson to avoid the Class B airspace, and basically worked the 5,000 to 6,000 foot MSL band and felt quite comfortable. My very efficient crew was waiting on the ground when I arrived. Which is a round about way of saying I took my time getting there. The Red Wing Gliding Club was gracious in returning the plaque, promising to "see you soon". Tom Kuhfeld
