Tom Kuhfeld's Silver Distance Flight Stanton to Dodge Center June 24th, 1999 It was mostly blue over Stanton, but much better looking to the South. After procrasinating for some time, I was at about 7,000 feet just north of Kenyon, and finally decided to make my first official x-c glider flight. So I called Marg and asked her to get the trailer and head for Dodge Center. I arrive over Dodge Center shortly thereafter at 7,500 feet, and Thermaled until Marg showed up. There were two guys at the airport who let marg in to pack up the glider, but they left in the process. I have to tracked them down to claim silver distance. My triumphant landing was marred by a flat main. Conditions looked so good to the South, I think you could have gone to Chicago.
