IGC - EW Model D Flight Recorder Download Utility for Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs
Overview
EW Model D Flight Recorder owners - There is no longer any need to lug your laptop computer
to the airport. Bring a Pocket PC or Handheld PC and EW to IGC
instead. EW to IGC is a simple utility for downloading flight
logs to Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs. The flight log is stored in an
IGC file on the Pocket PC or Handheld PC.
It
generates IGC files that are recognized by EW vali-ewa.exe validation
program as valid. This handy
utility is a bargain at only $19.95.
Downloads
The software below will allow you to download 5 flight logs (or 10 days,
whichever comes first) to try out the software. After the short trial
period you must purchase a license and transfer a valid password file to the
device.
Downloading - Click on the desired filename below to download it to your PC.
If that doesn't work, try right-clicking on it and selecting "Save Target
As..." from the pop-up menu.
Installation - Connect to your Pocket PC or Handheld PC with Microsoft
ActiveSync. Unzip the files into a directory on your PC and run the "Setup.exe"
program. It will install the program on your Pocket PC or Handheld PC.

Flight Analysis - Flight Log Analysis Program for Pocket PCs and
Handheld PCs
Overview
Why wait until you get home to view your flight log? This handy
utility can open any IGC flight log file. It will also open the non-IGC
format files generated by Henryk's GPS_LOG WinCE software. The
software calculates statistics and displays several interesting graphs
including a flight trace, a barogram, and a bar graph of lift vs. altitude.
Task analysis features are also available. It's a very good value at
only $24.95.

New Features in Version 2.1
Version 2.1 offers new task analysis features. You can see the new
data in the screen captures above. If the IGC flight log file contains
a flight declaration, Flight Analysis can calculate the task distance, speed,
etc. If the IGC file does not contain a flight declaration you can
manually create a text file containing the task waypoints and Flight
Analysis can use it to analyze the task. The file format for the task
data file is described in the Flight
Analysis.htm.
Help File
When you unzip the flight analysis installation files onto your PC, you
will find a file called "Flight
Analysis.htm". It is a help file describing the task file format
used by Flight Analysis.
Licensing
The downloadable files below will allow you to open 5 IGC files or operate
for 10 days (whichever comes first) before a valid password file must be
transferred to the Pocket PC. This password file is obtained by
purchasing a license for the software. The password is tied to the
"Owner" name of the Pocket PC or Handheld PC. When you place your
order, you will be prompted for the "Owner Name" entered into your Windows
CE device. Please be certain to enter the exact spelling of the name
entered into the device. A password file will be e-mailed to you
within 24 hours.
Free Updates
Purchasing a license entitles you to free unlimited minor software updates
and one major update. Minor updates include bug fixes and minor
feature enhancements. Major updates are done when significant
enhancements have been added, which warrant an upgrade charge. All
owners of licenses are entitled to a 50% discount on major updates.
For example, if version 3 had just become available, licensed users would be
able to purchase the new version for 50% of the new price. If the
software is selling for $24.95, it would only cost $12.48 to upgrade to the
latest version. That money goes to help compensate the programmer for
the effort that went into developing the new features.

VL to
IGC - Volkslogger Download Utility for Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs
Note: While VL to IGC is a great
product, there are 2 free utilities that can also download flight logs from
Volksloggers. I suggest that you try the free software first and come back
here if they don't work for you. Please follow the links below.
